Goose Island Ten Hills Pale Ale Beer Review

The other day I was checking out the beer cooler, and I noticed a new winter seasonal release from Goose Island Brewing Company called Goose Island Ten Hills Pale Ale, an American Pale Ale with 6.2% Alcohol By Volume. You can find this beer in six and twelve packs, and on draft.

Goose Island Ten Hills Pale Ale is a crystal clear, deep amber into copper colored beer, sporting a voluminous off white head. Lacing is plentiful and sticky.

The nose is focused on floral and citrus hop notes, with underlying pale and caramel malts.

Pale malts start off the taste, accented with hints of caramel, with lighter fruit notes in the transition, with the hops finish starting lightly floral, grassy, leafy, hints of citrus and just a touch of an herbal note to finish it out. The mouth is medium bodied with a fair amount of carbonation.

Goose Island Ten Hills Pale Ale doesn’t rely on the latest designer hop, nor does it push the bounds of what is possible, but it is a nice, well-crafted and drinkable Pale Ale. If you’re looking for a beer that you can drink throughout the night, Ten Hills Pale Ale will fit that bill nicely.
