Green Bullet Triple IPA was originally brewed in honor of Green Flash Brewing Company’s 9th anniversary a couple of years ago, but this year they decided to release it in bottles. It utilizes a variety of hops from New Zealand, and comes in at 10.1% Alcohol By Volume (ABV).
Green Flash Green Bullet Triple IPA is a clear, copper colored beer, supporting a small off-white head.
The nose has some underlying pale and caramel malts, but is mainly occupied by oily hop aromas, tropical fruits, and resinous pine.
The hops again stand out in the taste, following a pale and caramel start that is just barely large enough to support the rest of the flavors. Lighter fruit notes in the transition, with the finish starting lightly floral, citrus, tropical fruit, earthy and bitter pine and resin notes closing it out. Elevated alcohol is almost entirely masked. The mouth is a touch fuller than medium bodied and nicely carbonated.
Green Flash Brewing Company was clearly going for a hop onslaught with Green Bullet Triple IPA, and any hop lover should surely enjoy it. It is a nice change of pace in that it features some hops that aren’t in your everyday IPA, and the hop profile is nicely put together.
