As more and more of the beers from Indeed Brewing Company are finding their way onto the shelves and into the coolers around town, I have been more and more impressed with what they are up to. Tonight I will be checking out an American IPA that I saw in cans for the first time about a week ago. It is called Indeed Let It Ride IPA, which sports a 6.8% Alcohol By Volume.
Indeed Let It Ride IPA is a brown colored beer, glowing a cloudy, ruby into orange when held up to a light. A medium to large, khaki colored head lasts a long time, with a lot of residual lacing on the glass.
The nose has some caramel and toasty notes, with lots of citrus and resinous hop notes taking center stage.
Toasty and caramel malts notes start off the taste, neutral yeast transition, with plenty of hop flavor starting floral, citrus and grapefruit, with an underlying bitterness extending to the finish. Mouth is medium bodied, and with a medium level of carbonation.
Like local favorite Surly Furious, Indeed Let it Ride IPA would probably be better classified as a hoppy Red Ale, but IPA fans will certainly find a tasty treat that they can enjoy with this beer. The malts are pretty well balanced with the hops, although it is certainly a hop-centric beer. Overall, another fine offering from Indeed Brewing Company.
