Wow! Lollapalooza 2010 started off with quite a bang! Well done. The sun was shining, the people were pumped, the beer was ice cold, and the music (that I managed to catch anyway) was pretty damn brilliant. I’ll just cut the b.s. and dive right into how my day flowed.
I got to the festival (via train for those of you worried about the carbon impact) and was worried that the line to get through the gate and get my 3 day wristband would likely be ridiculously long, but it moved very quickly. I met up with a friend, and the day quickly got started.
1st stop: Kidzapalooza. No joke. The kids area is pretty fabulous. Silk screen your own echo tote, learn how to rap, etc. We watched a bit of School of Rock. Those kids could give many of my musician friends a run for their money. Right after that, there was a pretty sweet skate boarding demo, complete with ramps, etc.
From there, it was all about music for the rest of the day…

… Insert random trips to the beer garden here and there and there you have it. Day One. Check.

I am beyond excited to see these guys again in concert at Lolla this year. They are pretty amazing. If you have yet to see them live, do yourself the favor and find a show to go to. They do not disappoint.

Thanks to an extremely unexpected and delightful gift from my Step Mom, I will make it to Lolla this year! Not overly thrilled about the headliners, but certainly excited about many others in the lineup.
