New Belgium Blue Paddle Beer Review

Blue Paddle is a beer that shows up on the shelf every year from New Belgium Brewing. A Czech-style Pilsner with 4.8% Alcohol By Volume, it is available in 6 and 12 packs, as well as their current summer sample pack, where I obtained mine.

New Belgium Blue Paddle is a crystal golden colored beer, with a medium sized wheat head topping it off. A ring of lacing remains behind after each sip.

The nose is mainly focused on sweet malts, with no yeast characteristics and minimal noble hop aroma.

The taste starts off with sweet malt, grainy accents, neutral fermentation, hints of mineral, with medium hop flavor both herbal and leafy, low lingering bitterness in the finish. The mouth is light bodied, softly carbonated, with a dry finish.

New Belgium Blue Paddle is a nice representation of the style, and it provides a nice, refreshing option to quench your thirst under the summer sun. Now being available in cans, making it more convenient to bring with you during your summer fun.
